RAW VEGAN BODYCARE: JUST GOODIES FROM JUST THE GOODS

Yo. So a little while ago the wonderful Milena, the woman behind Just The Goods, was kind enough to send me some of her products to review. I actually basically begged her to let me review them because I had been wanting to try them myself for months. What are these "goods" exactly? Natural, wholesome, gentle and beautiful bodycare products ranging from toothpaste to deodorant to hair and skin care. I giddily received whipped shea butter, massage oil, essential oil-based perfume, a salt bath mix, and a lipstick (the last is created The All Natural Face). I love all of it. I use the shea butter EVERYDAY all over my bod and face. It smells and feels *divine*. I will shed tears when the jar is empty. My partner and I have used the massage oil... it's great. Wiiink. I also use the massage oil as a skin moisturizer because why not!? The lipstick is lovely, the perfume is intoxicating, and I used up the salt bath mix immediately - it included baking soda and lavender oil and put me in the most mellow mood. I absolutely love this company and highly recommend buying from them if you are looking for natural, eco-friendly, cruelty-free, nourishing bodycare products for fair prices.

  1. Fabulous! See, this is the type of company I'd love to have offer a direct-sale program. I'd put my oar in, in a heartbeat!

  3. Do you know any good organic cruelty free companies that have a range of cosmetic choices for women of color(like foundation, and lipstick etc.)?

  5. Hi Emily!

I'm from Michigan. Wondering the price difference for American money and added postage if I ordered from JTG's?

  6. Hi Emily,
Thanks for letting me know that Jeanie has a question =-)

    Hi Jeanie!
Thanks for your interest =-) with respect to currency conversion, the US dollar is currently stronger than the Canadian one, so you actually get better value =-)As of today 1 usd = 1.12 cad, but this rate fluctuates according to the daily markets and is ultimately established on an individual basis by your credit card, or paypal, depending on what method of payment you wish to choose.

With respect to shipping, my public wholesale prices are no padded to create the illusion of free so you never pay for more than what your order actually costs to ship. shipping rates are calculated according to weight based on prices set in collaboration between Canada Post/USPS, so lighter parcels are less expensive in appearance, but when you consider combined shipping rates, you actually get better value per item when more is purchased and shipped at the same time. For that reason, I always suggest that if someone wants to share an order with friends and/or family, you can divide the total cost of shipping between the number of people =-) shipping starts at $8 to the US, but the average order of approx 5 - 10 items (depending on the weight of those items) is usually about $15.50 =-)

I hope this helps! Thanks again =-)

  7. Hi Ellen!

Thanks for your enthusiasm above =-) Since I'm a one-person project, all orders are technically direct because they are handmade and are shipped by me personally <=-) And, beyond that, since I am committed to making non-toxic vegan and cruelty free body care products as affordable as possible, all prices are set at public wholesale.

BUT I do offer a regional group shipping program, which is currently in effect for Toronto, Ottawa/Gatineau and Boston. Depending on where you live (i.e. a large enough city that could support it), you might be interested in being a regional coordinator =-) =-)

To find out more, please click here: http://justthegoods.myshopify.com/pages/regional-group-ordering. If you think this is something you might like to become involved with, please get in touch by email and I'll pass on all the details =-) contact -at- justthegoods -dot- net =-)

  9. Hi Anonymous!
I just spotted your question about cosmetic choices for women of colour. I personally use The All Natural Face (now based in South Carolina) because the handmaker of that line, Crystal, offers close to 60 shades of foundation and so.much.more =-) I retail only a few of her items (lipstick, eyeshadow -- but even then, only a small selection). I really recommend that you check out this link -- I've been using it since 2009 after YEARS of research and couldn't imagine switching to anything else =-)
