goji coconut brownies

before i start telling you about brownies - have you heard the new fleet foxes album!?

every single freaking song is amazing and resonates deep within my soul. that's all there is to say. my friend is going to give me his old record player (so excited!!!! he is the best) and helplessness blues may be the first record i buy. here's a song from the album, it's got a beautiful video to go with it.

on to food. as you may have noticed - i have been eating predominantly salad the past few weeks, and this has yet to stop. all the salads i make are so gorgeous i have to take pics and show you. i don't care if you don't wanna see them. i will force you.

just look at it!

it was an excellent meal, as you should assume. for dessert i made these guys:

they are really yummy, as you should also assume. i put coconut, goji berries, almonds, cashews, hemp seeds, prunes and cacao in 'em. simple, delicious and nutritious. they are disappearing pretty rapidly.

goji coconut brownies: makes... enough

1/3 cup goji berries
1/2 cup coconut chunks
3/4 cup almonds
3/4 cup cashews
3 tb hemp seeds
1/3 cup cacao
6 tb mesquite powder
1 t cinnamon
1/8 t cayenne
1/2 t Himalayan salt
1/4 cup dates
1/4 cup prunes
2 tb melted coconut oil
a bit of agave, maple syrup or honey (if you like)

in a food processor, pulse nuts into crumbs then add the dates and prunes and wait for the mix to start sticking together. add all the other ingredients and see if you like how it tastes. if so - awesome! (if not, change to your liking) then press into a lined pan and refrigerate for 1 hour.

or eat them right away.

I love your blog!

Fleet foxes is a grrreeaaat band! And that music video reminds me of a Miyazaki film, princess mononoke. (should watch if you haven't yet!)

Anyhoo, love from California!
Yay raw food!

I've always wondered how such beautiful music like Fleet Foxes could exist, that band seriously tugs at my heart and soul strings aghhhh! That music video was gorgeous but A BIT UNSETTLING, still awesome nonetheless

i know! for awhile i let myself believe people weren't behind the music - nature was just making it up. then i saw them live and i'm like... oh, i guess humans really are making it, not the trees. haha. i try to forget though ;) makes it even better.

agreed! it's not exactly pleasant, but hey, the coolest things are always a little unsettling... right?

I used to think that bands wrote their own music, but it would seem that the music industry is owned and controlled by those that own the money and therefore the power, I am referring to the "Illuminati" this group of people see themselves as superior to the rest of humanity (you and me) we are viewed by them as merely cattle. This video by fleet foxes is full of their symbolism: triangles, owls, serpents etc... I know it is hard to believe that such ordinary looking bands could be controlled/involved with such forces but sadly it is true, band members seem to sell their soul to the devil as Satan is who these people worship and they even sacrifice real children (the Royal family are part of the illuminati). If you are still unsure about the truth of what I am saying just do an internet search (preferably using "Startpage") some more terms to type in are : Bohemian grove, the Bilderberg group, Skull & Bones Yale University, Freemasonry, FEMA camps and coffins, the Georgia guide stones, Denver airport paintings, agenda 21, Geo-engineering/chemtrails, toxic fluoride, GMOs Monsanto, Bill Gates vaccines, Smart meter death, New World Order, Transhumanism, I could go on and on. Watch Alex Jones of Prisonplanrt.com and INFOWARS, watch David Icke "human race get off your knees" on YouTube.

I am sorry to have to tell you all of this but sooner or later you will know about it anyway, best to find out now while we stil have time to do something about it. Peace and Love.

Hi Emily, I am about to start making this receipt and ... wondering which ingredients to be chopped in my FP.
Nuts, dates and prunes for sure, but what about hemp seeds, coconut chunks and goji berries?
Thanks, Imre

Hi Emily!

I found your blog yesterday and have since been pretty much glued to it! ;)

I also had a go at making these, improvising with extra honey where I had no coconut oil, they're delicious! Thank you for sharing!
Do you think they will keep in the fridge okay for a few days? (If there are any left of course) And have you ever tried freezing them? :)

Thank you, and looking forward to your book arriving!
Happy Easter!
