glowing morning juice


Okay I seriously have no time to write this post right now so I'm gonna speed type the recipe below and hope you make this ASAP. I'm off to write a mid-term exam and have all the confidence in the world that this gorgeous green elixir will give me all the energy and brain power I need to ace it! 


glowing morning juice for energy: 

1 cucumber
1 bunch kale (maybe 5 cups?)
3 celery stalks
1 bell pepper
3 apples
1 cup mint leaves 

Juice it! Drink it! Love it!

  1. Yay! Looks so refreshing and delicious. How long does it keep you going for? I'm going to be getting an omega vert very soon and I'm so, so excited to be juicing and an upcoming juice fast/cleanse. Do you five tips or helpful hints or anything for going on a juice cleanse?

    1. Thanks so much ;) Well you can check out my previous juice fasts (I posted everyday about how I was feeling, etc.

      The juice will last for quite awhile but I suggest drinking as soon as possible after making it, preferably the same day.

    1. Yes I do. Some people like a bit of pulp in there but I'm kind particular about it - I want it totally smooth.

    2. Um, how do you measure a leafy vegetable such as Kale?

      Also, how much of a difference would adding parsley or cilantro make?

    3. Those are great things to add! I just eye-ball leafy greens, a few huge handfuls is enough for me.

    One thing I know for sure is: juicing is a very healthy way to consume one's fruits and vegetables.

  5. Hey there! I've been wanting to try juicing, but I currently don't have a juicer. Would I be able to use my blender for this?

    1. Hi, Jennifer!

      You could do this in a blender... but I would change the recipe quite a bit. Add a banana or some dates, add as much liquid as you need to make it smooth, and watch out for the greens, cuke and celery - it could make it taste pretty bitter so add it according to taste.

    2. I use a NutriBullet because I like the pulp that is left in the drink. As far as adding banana or dates, I for one don't like sweet flavored greens. The apple makes it sweet enough for me. I also like to use red bell pepper because they are a bit sweeter than the green ones. Also adding some flax seed gives it a bit more of a nutritional boost and for liquid use coconut water with pulp.

I use the Nutri Bullet as well, the pulp is good because you are getting more fiber and you stay satisfied longer.. but it can be quite thick.. add water or organic bottled apple juice to thin it... in some recipes you can use Almond Milk.. it gives you lots of protein and vitamins, it is the only milk that doesn't need fortified artificially, better for you than soy. Soy is loaded with Estrogen. Freeze your fruit and you can have a sorbet or ice cream for a snack later. Love my Nutri Bullet

    1. Oh anything you like really, like cilantro, basil, etc. You could also simply leave it out and not replace it with anything :)

  13. This is a lot of apples. There is a reason people would not feel good eating 3 apples together, probably not a good idea to be doing that to your pancreas.

  14. Since I started taking green smoothies for breakfast every day, I stopped craving meat, and actually became a vegetarian without consciously trying. I've lost 10 lbs also without trying, and have more energy than before I started using it.
