CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER OATS

Making oatmeal this decadent is like having a giant gooey, cookie for breakfast every morning. I still haven't gotten tired of it. I am a sugar fiend so the richer, the better. We were out of peanut butter for awhile but now we've got a fat jar and I am immediately making use of it. Chocolate and peanut butter is - needless to say - one of the most-loved food combos around, and when you add it to creamy, warm oatmeal, the party in my mouth only gets better.

This is great fuel before I head to the gym, or any time, because it tastes great and provides a bunch of good stuff for my bod: iron, complex carbs, protein, some healthy fats, magnesium, calcium and fibre. It fills me up and keeps me energized so I can get shit DONE. I am currently listening to Frank Ocean's new album that has gotten so much hype: Blond(e)? I'm into it and the fact that he's out as bi/gay(?) makes me appreciate his work even more. I want more queer artists in my ears! Anyways, enjoy the oats. Mwah.

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER OATS
[ serves one or two ]

Oats:
3/4 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cup cold water
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
1-2 tablespoons coconut sugar
1/4 cup cold non-dairy milk
1-2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoons hemp seeds

Chocolate:
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup

To make the oats: add the oats and salt to the cold water and bring to a boil, turn down the heat until it is the consistency you want (I usually take it off the burner at this point). Stir in the rest of the ingredients and pour into a bowl or two.

To make the chocolate: stir together the ingredients then drizzle over your oats. Enjoy!
